Fortunately, Microsoft has finally created an official tool to make your life much easier switching from Evernote to OneNote. It’s not completely automated, and a lot of things can go wrong or missing during the switch. Previously, we’ve covered a way to migrate notes from Evernote to OneNote, but that leverages the use of export to print and import from OneNote. If you are one of those Evernote users that use more than two devices, it’s time to switch and migrate Evernote to OneNote. Exceeding the limit, you will receive a warning and ask to revoke access from other devices. For Basic account, it will impose a limit of two devices only. OneNote is the only note-taking app that I know of capable of doing something like this.Recently Evernote announced a change in its pricing, which reduces the number of devices per account for Free users. Evernote’s mobile app is more refined and offers a better user experience thanks to a sidebar menu.
In spite of similarities, there are plenty of differences between Evernote and OneNote. A OneNote team member said that they are working on the ability to add tags to notes in a Reddit AMA. You can also move these containers, and all information inside it, anywhere and across sections and pages. Instead of tagging notes, you can tag these individual containers inside a note. This is helpful when you want to present data side by side. It doesn’t have to start from a new line on the left. You can type almost anywhere inside a OneNote note. Where OneNote differs is how it is structured and how it functions.
